The play festival is an opportunity for Stellies to showcase their writing, directing and acting talents.
Learners write their own play and receive help and advice from a panel of teachers. The writer can direct his/her own play or the director can be a different learner.
Teachers assist the directors and writers with the audition process that is open to all enthusiastic actors. The directors decide on their cast and draw up a rehearsal schedule.
Learners rehearse independently and perform in front of a panel of teachers for guidance and possible improvements.
At the final, learners compete for prizes that include best director, best play, best marketing, and best actor and actress.
