Sport plays an important role in producing well-balanced, responsible young people. Therefore each learner is expected to participate in one winter and one summer sport.

Parent Support Group
To maintain a high standard of sport, parent involvement is of paramount importance. In 1999 Parent Support groups were formed in most of the sports offered at the school. These groups aim to help develop and advance sport at Stellenberg High so that the school plays an active role in sport in the Western Province.

The support groups also set themselves the following goals:
● acquisition of funds so that the necessary facilities can be developed.
● encouragement of parents and learners to become interested and involved in sport.
● development of a sporting culture.

The main objective of these groups is to assist and support the teachers and coaches.
