The Governing Body
The Governing Body of the school consists of seven elected parents, the principal, two members of the academic staff, one member of the support staff and two elected senior learners. Additional expertise is co-opted when needed. The Governing Body executes its functions through a committee-based system. A governor chairs each committee.

The Principal
Theo Boonzaaier was born in Johannesburg and completed his schooling at Florida Hoërskool. After serving in the entertainment corps of the Air Force for two years, he enrolled at RAU, where he completed a BA Ed, BA Hons in Afrikaans and BA Hons in Human Resource Development.
He returned to his alma mater in 1985 as teacher in Afrikaans and English. He was promoted to HOD: Afrikaans at Sandown High in 1989 and to deputy principal at the same school in 1993.
In 1997 he accepted the post of principal at Stellenberg High.

Language Policy
Instruction in grade 10-12 is dual medium (Afrikaans and English) and parallel -medium (Afrikaans and English) in grade 8 and 9. Tuition is in the learners' home language in junior grades and in both Afrikaans and English in senior grades in the same class.
